| ESSENDON MAZDA AT MOONEE VALLEY |
The Essendon Mazda Australia Stakes was held at Moonee Valley on January 22nd in the lead up to Australia Day.
The $200,000 Group 2 (1,200-metre) race was won by favourite Black Caviar – the three-year-old Peter Moody-trained filly making her first appearance since being injured last September.
She is now unbeaten in five starts and is arguably the hottest property in Victorian racing.
The week before, the Essendon Mazda Handicap was held at Moonee Valley, with the Peter Moody-trained Captain Coltish also taking first place.
Essendon Mazda is a proud supporter of the Moonee Valley Races taking part in various events throughout the year and capping off with the Moonee Valley Cox Plate where Essendon Mazda is one of the sponsors of the GPO Fashions on the Field, giving away a new Mazda2 to the winner.
|
|
Moonee Valley is planning to undergo a $1-billion redevelopment following the Cox Plate later this year. The reconstruction would see a new track, layout, grandstand and amenities.
Essendon Mazda looks forward to supporting Moonee Valley Racecourse through these changes as we see the track become a world-class night racing venue.
