Hello and welcome to Essendon Mazda's
October e-news.
Can you believe it, October is here! It seems that 2009 is just flying by, but we guess that’s because we’ve been so busy.
This month we are in full Spring Racing Carnival mode thanks to this weekend’s Tatts Cox Plate at Moonee Valley, of which Essendon Mazda is proud to sponsor the GPO Fashions on the Field, giving away a brand new Mazda2.
We also take a look at the very successful AutoCentre Clearance Sale held at the beginning of October and welcome the new CX-7 and CX-9 to our range.
Enjoy this edition and remember to book your car in for a service with us in the lead up to summer.

Sincerely,

| DIFFERENT SUVS FOR A DIFFERENT LIFE |
Essendon Mazda is excited to announce the arrival of the new Mazda CX-7 and CX-9 which have both now arrived at our dealership.
Adding a feature packed Grand Touring model to the crossover, seven-seat SUV range, the new CX-9 is a seven-seat sensation.
Powered by the refined 3.7-litre V6 24-valve DOHC petrol engine and a six-speed Activematic transmission mated to Mazda’s Active Torque Split AWD to ensure that Zoom-Zoom is an integral part of the upgraded CX-9.
Fuel economy has now been improved to just 12.2 litres per 100km and emissions remain compliant with Euro Stage IV regulations.
The new Mazda CX-7 introduces two new engine grades – the proven 2.5-litre naturally-aspirated and 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engines already used in the award-winning Mazda6 – improving on fuel economy and that Zoom-Zoom driving promise.
Now the refreshed sporty CX-7 SUV will be available in a choice of three powertrains, three transmissions, two drivetrains and four feature-packed grades.
All models in the CX-7 crossover range have received updated styling and revised features.
Contact us on (03) 9374 2222 for more information or to book a test drive of one of these great new SUVs.

Dangerous driving is not only in many cases illegal, but it is exactly as its name implies – dangerous!
The police are constantly pleading for drivers to be smarter on the roads and that means by employing safer driving practices.
To encourage you to become a safer driver, we will look at some of the worst driving habits, giving you tips to become a smarter driver on the roads.
• |
Tail gating. Reduce the number of rear end accidents by sticking to the three second rule. Keep a distance of three seconds between you and the car in front. |
• |
Using devices when driving. This includes mobile phones and GSP systems, which can easily take your eyes off the road, even when using a handsfree device. Avoid using these devices whenever possible while driving. |
• |
Poor seating position. Ensure that your arms have a slight bend in them, shoulders back in the seat, and legs with a slight bend at the knee when pedals are pushed to the floor. |
• |
Speeding. We are reminded about the dangers of speeding everyday. Glance down at the speedo every so often to maintain control of your speed. |
|
|
• |
Drink driving. Driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs not only endangers your life, but that of your passengers and other drivers. This is very simple – don’t do it! |
• |
Poor vehicle maintenance. Poorly maintained vehicles can be very dangerous on the roads. It is important to have your car serviced by professionals regularly, as well as doing basic regular checks, including water and oil levels, tyre treads, windscreen wipers and the like. |

Contact our Service Department for more help in this matter. |
